The Joe Dixon Studio has been operating continuously in Texas since 1966 and is nationally known for its excellence. Our studio offers private lessons for tenor and bass trombone. The studio has an extraordinary record of 200+ successful Texas All-State participants, as well as 500+ All-Region level performers.
Members of the studio have performed in the National Youth Orchestra of the USA (NYO/USA), Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra (GDYO), Houston Youth Symphony (HYS), Boston Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio (YOSA).
Successful studio alumni have performed professionally throughout the United States and the world, including the Boston Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Ballet, the North Carolina Symphony, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale (Italy), Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional (OSN, Mexico), as well as the US Marine Band (“The President’s Own”) and the US Army Band (“Pershing’s Own”). Alumni are also excellent studio instructors throughout the United States.
