Mr. Dixon has been a fantastic mentor and friend throughout my entire teaching career. From him, I have learned how to teach music at a higher level and how to build nurturing relationships with students that motivate them long beyond their time in the practice room. Mr. Dixon has taught me the importance of patience, process, and the value of delayed gratification. Our students have benefited tremendously from Mr. Dixon’s wisdom, guidance, and generosity. We have each gained an appreciation for the importance of learning to perform simple things brilliantly and, of course, to find our lyrical voices on our instruments.
