Forward is Forward

Good day, Friends!

Do you ever have to remind students that sometimes they get in the way of their own progress?
Well. I do. We’re constantly refocusing on one of our main mantras:approach skills through correctness and efficiency, rather than force.

“Like the sprinter, we teach our body to allow our desired result through form and efficiency, rather than brute force.”

I believe this approach is especially desirable for improving velocity, range, and one’s slide action. Practice having your playing LOOK, FEEL, and SOUND effortless. Let quality allows guide your efforts. Correctness is what moves you forward. Repetition of inefficient skills does not.

“Each day, teach your mind and body the way you wish for them to feel in performance.”
